TESOL Society of Bangladesh (TESOL BD) successfully held the second session of its “Distinguished Lecture Series” in collaboration with the Department of English Studies, State University. The series, launched in October 2021, aims to disseminate knowledge in the fields of English Language, Literature, and Cultural Studies. The second session focused on “Publishing in SCOPUS-Indexed Journals” and took place virtually on January 20, 2022. TESOL BD organized the event in collaboration with the Career Development Centre at SUB, which provided technical support for the workshop.
The workshop was conducted by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamarul Kabilan from the School of Educational Studies at Universiti Sains Malaysia. Prof. Dr. Sayeedur Rahman, Advisor of the Department of English Studies at SUB, moderated the session. The workshop delved into the fundamental aspects of publishing in SCOPUS-indexed journals and provided guidance for aspiring researchers.
The keynote speaker emphasized the importance of publishing in SCOPUS-indexed journals for those in academia, discussing the intricacies of research and publication. He also shared valuable advice and tips for young researchers, including what to expect when publishing in such journals and how to identify predatory journals.
The session saw enthusiastic participation from faculty members and graduate students from English and related social sciences departments, both domestically and internationally. The participants actively engaged in an interactive question-and-answer session, showcasing their enthusiasm for the topic.
